Promotional postcard sent out to old clients!
Posted by: | CommentsThis cartoon was definitely a pre-computer one. Good old fashioned pen, ink and watercolour. At the time I had just lost a very good client who had kept me busy for over a year. I had neglected most of my old clients so decided to drum up some work by letting everyone know I was available for commissions. This is when I used to send out postcards/stuff in the mail to get new clients. How times have changed!
Cartoons for “Why Wallpaper” leaflet!
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve just found these cartoons on an old CD labeled 1999. I’m guessing this was about the time I first started using the computer for doing artwork. The cartoons were drawn in a slightly different style.(Clients request!) I inked onto a textured paper, I used to call it ‘eggshell’. I’m not sure if that was the proper name. Then used a China marker for the shading.(Sorry about the quality.)
Health and Safety cartoons!
Posted by: | CommentsAs I’m sure you’re aware you need to keep Health and Safety at the forefront of
everyone’s mind 24-7-365.
Health and Safety cartoons can illustrate serious messages in a light hearted way.
Here’s one I did as part of a calendar for Severn Trent Water’s 2008 safety calendar…
You can see other Health and Safety cartoons on my web site…

The cost of Christmas still hangs over me!
Posted by: | CommentsI ‘tried’ to pay off my credit card bills at the weekend – then decided I’d pay a bit of them off when I saw the size of them, it inspired this cartoon…
Cartoon attracts attention for flier!
Posted by: | CommentsHi, Here’s a cartoon I recently drew for an advertisement flier. The cute little grannie having her computer problems solved attracts the attention for the flier.
Do you think this flier would work as well with just enlarging the text/logo? Personally I don’t think so.
Cartoon for CATS calendar!
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s a cartoon I did for a ‘CATS’ calendar, commissioned by Jarrolds Publishing here in the UK.
As we’ll always had cats at home this was quite an easy and enjoyable project to work on.
I’ll dig some more of the cartoons that made up the 12 months.
Bad customer service!
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s a few ‘customer service’ quotes that a hosting company I use should take note of. I have two other blogs and both have been down for over a week. Their customer support doesn’t answer my the tickets I’ve raised and they don’t pick up the phone when you call them. I leave messages and they never return them. Maybe they’ve gone bust!?
Anyway here’s the quotes…
If we don’t take care of our customers, someone else will.

Cartoon Studio Video Testimonial!
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s my latest cartoon video, cartoons by yours truly, voice over by Gary Ryan Blair and video put together by Brian Anelli.
Gary was kind enough to give me a testimonial in the form of an mp3 file and then I illustrated it. Hope you like it!?

Cartoons for Craft Creations!
Posted by: | CommentsThis was something a little different that I did for Craft Creations last year. Drawing cartoons to be used as découpage prints. I worked on football/soccer, golf, tennis and lawn bowls designs and below are a couple of examples…(They did the layouts!)
The new Life Smiles die-cut 3D découpage prints are a fun addition to our great range of creative papers.
These five sheets come with one design on each and are ready to simply press out and layer using either
sticky foam pads or silicone adhesive.

All sheets are supplied unpacked. The illustrations are shown much smaller than actual size, each sheet is
A4 size. Layouts may vary slightly from the illustrations shown. 150gsm, acid and lignin free paper.
Get on the World Cup bandwagon!
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s the 2010 FIFA World Cup – the 19th one starts in June, isn’t it time you thought about jumping on the massive bandwagon that’s started to roll? Campaigns to promote your products with cartoon humour? Here’s some soccer/football related cartoons I did a couple of World Cup’s ago…
This series of cartoons appeared in national newspapers in conjunction with England’s games in the 1998 World Cup.

I was asked to create two cartoon characters who were football crazy. They
would never leave the TV throughout the whole of the World Cup.
The main characteristic of both Norm and Joe was that they were total couch
potatoes and over-ate (and over-drank – but this was later eliminated for
obvious reasons!) Here they are getting ready for the World Cup tournament to start.
This cartoon was drawn to coincide with an England player getting sent off. And, unfortunately their chances of getting any further in the competition comes to an end.

How about creating some similar cartoons to run along side the next tournament? There’s going to be a big audience!
